It is a good bit out from the city centre but suited us perfectly as we visited relatives nearby. Great to have HanseDom attaches to it and shopping mall beside it! Rooms are clean and very spacious. Cleaning staff (young Romanian man) was super friendly. Bad: Colours and decor in rooms are very dated and have seemingly never been updated since the hotel was built in the 90‘s!

Nice stay for three days.

Nice with nearness to pool area and also nearness to the fine city of Stralsund. Bad: Internet connection was really slow and didn’t work in all areas of the hotel. Streaming was not possible. Seems like old school with all these codes on outprints.

You'll have to take a bus to city center from the hotel. But for its price hotel is excellent.

Very pet friendly hotel, they gave us a mat and a bowl for our dog. And access to waterpark from the hotel is very comfortable.

Nice location for families because of funpark. I found bed uncomfortable. Cleanliness - there was someone's bra behind the bed!!!!

Good breakfast, bad dinner buffé

We've stayed at this hotel a number of times, it has changed ownership over the years and with it we've unfortunately seen a decline in the quality of the dinner service. At 22 euros per person I can't recommend the buffet to anyone. The breakfast buffet is great though, we were very pleased with it.

Nice holiday

As a family of five we felt we were given good value for our money. Everyone was very efficient and friendly. The food in the restaurant was however average - but the service very good. Thank you for a nice stay.

Good base to explore the area!

Four night stay as part of a coach tour (The coach company reliably select good accommodation!) Spacious room with an immaculate en-suite facility and a fascinating mini-bar and TV built into a miniature lighthouse! Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good and plentiful. Stralsund itself is a fascinating city and an ideal base for visiting the neighbouring Islands of Rugen and Usedom. Excellent swimming facilities adjacent (and linked) Shopping mall nearby.

lovely overnight stay

Genuinely warm welcome, staff was wonderful, comfortable & beautiful room (assuming you enjoy a nautical theme), balcony with a lovely view. Breakfast was amazing (pancakes, fresh fruit, crispy bacon). No regrets whatsoever about choosing this hotel for my stay! Bad: Just a tiny thing, but I wished toiletries would include body lotion.

Family Vacation

We had a very nice room with an extra bed. The Hansedom poole and spa is exxelent. We had a facial massage, wich was so nice. We ate at the restaurant for two nights - they are som serviceminded for kids. My son loves it :-). Love the way, where you just use the roomnumber as "payment". We booked the room and a four day stay through - easy. - BUT when we checked out wee got an extra bill for two days for using the Hansedom pool. The first two days were included and the last two days we payed for. That is not logical, half is for free and half you pay for, and I have no chance of knowing. I was told two times that i made a bad booking through the internet. Hope it could be more transparant when you book on-line. I dont mind paying, but I like to know what I am paying for, - no surprices. However we had a wonderfull and relaxing vacation. It was our second time at the hotel - And we will come back one day.

Nice rooms and great helpful service

We booked a suite on the top floor with a great view and the floor almost ti ourselves. Our two children (age 9 and 12) slep in the livingroom. One on the coach and one on an extra bed. They had their own toilet and we also had a big bathroom with both shower and bathtub. We used the mini bar as cooler for a little food of our own. There were also a boiler for tea and coffee, but unfortunately no coffee. Just tea. We asked for it and were promised to get some but it didnt come. Later they told us that they had run out. The beds were great - we slept wonderful. The wifi was fast and stabil. The staff in the reception were very helpful and some of they spoke both english and german. Especially Fabian Fischer was a very serviceminded and humoristic man! Thanks. The restaurant is very effective with all the guests. The morning buffet was great with many different choices. We had buffet for dinner twice. Italian and maritim. It was ok. Some dishes were really tasteful (especially the cold ones) and some a little boring. Our daughter missed some more child friendly dishes - where the ingredients are kept seperate so that you can mix it as you like. The water and sauna world is great fun and not too crowded. Best after 18.00. Nearby (5 min walk) there is a big shopping center with supermarket and lots of shops. 10 min in car ti reach the wonderful old town of Stralsund. The girls had their nails done in Beautynails and lots of fine cafes. We also spend a fantastic day out on the island of Rügen - 50 min in car. All in all a great stay and we would like to return.

Breakfast Buffet Extraordinaire

Stayed at the hotel as part of a bus tour and thus had no choice in dinner and breakfast. Dinner was good but the breakfast buffet was truly amazing as it had an overwhelming selection. Did not have enough time to visit the water park, so cannot comment. One slight disadvantage is the distance from the hotel to the town centre when you do not have your own vehicle.

It's a solid option but mainly oriented towards families and perhaps not the option for a couple (like us) looking for a romantic spa weekend. Bad: Locations is pretty far from the everything besides the waterpark and a mall.

Nice escape in the winter- a bit out dated.

The Hansedom was a great place to spend a few winter days with kids while the city provided some culture and good excursions for the whole family Bad: The dinner buffet was pricey for the quality. The breakfast buffet was decent but very cramped. Also the logistics of getting in and out of the Hansedom (swimming area) as a guest are a bit old fashioned- it could be easier.

Good hotel but rooms urgently need a makeover

Great size of the bedrooms Bad: Interior in the bedrooms and bathrooms is very dated - nothing changed since the 90's! That's a shame!

Stay was good, but not excellent

Took Advantage of a 3 night Family stay offer with 2x HanseDom Access and 2x Dinners included. Unfortunately after our Long journey to the Hotel, we found out that that we found out that we required a Reservation to eat the dinner. Could not eat dinner in the Restaurant as a result and had to find a place in the City. This should be informed of in advance. Thank god we did not take up the Option of taking on the optional 3rd dinner for additional cost, as we would not have been able to take Advantage of it. The rooms were tidy, furniture a bit sparse, but OK. Beds were uncomfortable (unusual for a Name brand Hotel chain) - the queen sized bed was a too soft foam mattress (both wife and I had backaches each day, but we sleep on a good Quality spring bed at home), the children slept on a hide a bed in poor condition and very hard. The room used a "Clip" that was required to enter the room and needed to be put in a Special spot to turn on the lights. This quickly became annoying as if not everyone wanted to leave the Hotel room, you could not take the key with you (leared by error after going to get stuff from the car and leaving my wife in the dark in the bathroom). The meals were very good, Breakfast and dinners were great buffets. The HanseDom waterpark was good with many unexpected diversions, although too few seating options available. Internet was not offered upon check in. had to go to room and read through documentation to discover that an Access Password needed to be obtained at the check in Counter... another trip up and down. Elevators were slow and not intelligent (one small, one large). Had to wait 10 minutes sometimes as even if one came, It was usually full. After first day we started only using the stairs as we were on the 3rd floor.

Good hotel

Very comfortable hotel in good location. Front desk service was good but not all staff spoke good English. Had many dinners in the dining room and the food was very good although there were few healthy choices. The hotel is attached to a large indoor/ outdoor water park which is great for families. The room was very spacious with a small sitting area. Only one small complaint and that was the down pillows which were very thin and gave no support. About a 10£ taxi drive to the downtown area or the train station.

Fantastic Hotel and Inddor/Outddor water world resort

Nice Hotel with modern but cozy spacious rooms, friendly personnel, a great breakfast buffet and À la carte Restaurant. Nicely situated close to a big shopping mall and only 10 minutes from the city center/harbor of Stralsund with lots of nice restaurants and the fantastic Ozeaneum ocean museum. 45 minutes by car to the nice northern shore/beach of the beautiful island Rügen. The Indor/Outdor Waterpark is perfect for families. The Sauna section is a fantastic place to recover from every day stress.

We enjoyed our stay.

Splendid breakfast and leisure facilities. We had a large room with a nice balcony and view. Bad: A small bar. No a la carte dinner menu available when asked for. This hotel is on the outskirts of the town.

Really good hotel room, many different things on the breakfeast buffet, ok dinner, but last night we waited for 45 min for the dessert, the waiters forgot us when we order extra drinks, and there were 5 different waiters to serve us. They skipped cleaning our room one day.

A perfect familyvacation, good service and nice rooms, tasty breakfast. It's perfect that you can go from your room directly to the Hansedome and that you don't have to have any cash with you. Close to shoppingcenter and the bus to the beautiful city.

go and see

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. What I didn't expect was the nudist area at saunas which totally pushed me away. Anyway we liked the waterpark very much. We had superior, quite big, clean and nice room. TV channels were mostly in German so it was useless for non-German-speaking people. Stuff was very friendly, breakfasts were good enough and the hotel was very close to the shops. I highly recommend that place for staying.
